HCL Unveils two new ICS Tablets in India starting at Rs. 7,999 [HCL U1 & MyEduTab]

Country’s leading IT giant HCL Infosystems launched two of their new Tablets to compete with the growing Tab market in the country . The two tablets are named as HCL ME U1 and HCL MyEduTab, both of them are pre-equipped with Android 4.0 Ice-cream Sandwich. While, HCL U1 carries a price tag of Rs. 7,999, MyEduTab is priced at Rs. 11,499/-.

MyEdu Tab is further sub-divided into two variants, the K12 version mainly focuses on the educational content and comes pre-loaded with NCERT books and educational apps, the name K12 comes from the idea of a Tab for Kindergarten to Class 12th students. MyEdu Tab – Higher is priced at Rs. 9,999/- for student undertaking higher education and to make them technically sound.

The tablet comes pre-loaded with 17 local ready-to-use applications, here is the quick specifications details, the phone sports a  7-inch Capacitive display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. It runs on Android 4.0 Ice-cream Sandwich and house a 1 Ghz of processor with 512 MB of RAM, it has 4GB onboard storage which is expandable upto 32 GB via microSD support. For connectivity, the Tab has Wi-fi, 3G, USB 2.0 and has a 3600 mAh standard battery. It has access to over 10,000 apps to be downloaded from ME App store.

U1 is comes with free goodies worth Rs. 3000 and some lucrative offers on Hungama, Cleartrip and Think free office. The Tab is bundled with apps like Ninja Run, MoneyControl, Twitter, HCL Touch, ibibo browser, ME App store and many more. MyEdu Tab has a cloud support which will make the learning process much easier as teachers can upload the content on the cloud and the same can be accessed by the students.

Mainly focused towards college going youth, the two tablets are quiet cheap and are packed with some mid range specifications which will help students make the most out of Technology and will lead to better quality education system in the country.
